The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Tuesday issued a new moratorium on evictions that would last until October 3. That said, do not wait: a๐—ฝ๐—ฝ๐—น๐˜† ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜/๐˜‚๐˜๐—ถ๐—น๐—ถ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐—ฎ๐˜€๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐—ฎ๐˜€ ๐˜€๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ฎ๐˜€ ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐˜€๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ฏ๐—น๐—ฒ at OregonRentalAssistance.org, if you are behind on rent or cannot pay current/future rent. You can apply for up to 12 months of back rent and 3 months of future rent, as well as help with utilities. If you need help with future months, make sure to include that in your application! The program is offered to all income-eligible renters regardless of immigration status, and it does not impact eligibility for other federally-funded programs (food stamps, Medicaid/Medicare, social security, WIC, public housing).

Assistance provided is not a loan -- if you receive the assistance you will not need to pay it back. If you are finding the application at OregonRentalAssistance.org to be challenging to complete, Lane County renters can also apply for a different assistance program at lanecounty.org/rent

If your landlord gives you a termination notice for non-payment, you should do two things:

  1. Call 2-1-1 to see what type of help might be available and

  2.
